Best friend

Falling.

Falling down… Lost in shrouds of cold fog and unforgiving misery.

Bruises and scrapes, grazes and cuts.

Coming back to the same place and the same people over, and over, and over again; but none of them are what you’re looking for. What are you searching for, anyway?

The same faces that pass by on the streets, yet they’re all alien and isolated. The same hot sun that burns down in furious retaliation; the sound of the horn being blared in the dead of night; the thoughts that have been forgotten, but remembered again, all dredged up from the past.

The lone person who you look out for, like a once familiar habit, in the crowds; that pair of eyes, the ones which always seemed to speak volumes. That sensation of loss, although it has been days. Weeks. Months.

Hopelessness, desperation, frigid numbness.

This is what falling down feels like.
